Casa de Esperanza de los Ninos (The House of Hope for Children) is a safe place for all children in crisis due to abuse, neglect or the effects of HIV. Casa de Esperanza provides residential, medical and psychological care according to the needs of each child. Counseling is also available to the parents in appropriate situations. The Casa strives to break the destructive cycle of child abuse by offering safe homes to children of families in crisis. The Houston Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program, our other charity recipient, provides nutritious meals and snacks, and helps start children on the right path for success. The Houston Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program now has six locations for at-risk children from Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, who receive food safety lessons, nutrition education and hands-on instruction to help create a healthy lifestyle.
